Why NorthWestNow?

Why Northwestnow?

Time to renew

The NorthWest Now Zone has enjoyed a long-established reputation as a manufacturing region particularly in the area of textiles. Times change and today this industry base is being transformed into high tech and high skill activity areas.

Time to rethink

Letterkenny and Londonderry have seen a sectoral shift from textiles to IT, Financial Services and Life Sciences sectors in recent years.  The presence of world class knowledge based companies such as Fujitsu (Japan), Firstsource (India), Prudential Insurance Company of America (US), UnitedHealth Group (US), Zeus (US) and AXA (France) who are already based within the Zone is proof positive of the continuing growth and attractiveness of NorthWest Now for overseas investors.

Time to deliver

In addition to investment by industry, both governments are committed to the Zone. By working within their respective development strategies, substantial economic and competitive benefits can be obtained. The delivery of physical, social and economic infrastructure is key to securing new inward investment and therefore renewing the business landscape of the NorthWestNow Zone.

Commitment to High  Investment Levels
The Northern Ireland Government has committed  to investing £1,380m on the railway infrastructure, roads network and services systems across the region over the next three years. The Irish Government has also made funding of €580m available towards road infrastructure in the Zone.
