Who we are
The movers behind NorthWest Now
IDA Ireland (Investment & Development Agency) and Invest Northern Ireland (Invest NI) are the two catalysts behind the Northwest Now initiative.
The objective of Northwest Now is to pursue mutually beneficial cross border cooperation and to develop specific initiatives that can exploit the combined attributes of “paired” urban centres on each side of the border.
Northwest Now has been supported by funding from the EU Interreg 111A programme for Ireland and Northern Ireland (2000-2006).
Key Objectives
The key objectives of the Northwest Now initiative are to:
- Generate an urban location of scale.
- Build a substantial resource of high quality property solutions on both sides of the border.
- Develop an integrated, high quality, high capacity and resilient telecoms network.
- Encourage close collaborative links between 3rd Level Education Institutes and industry.
